Across America in 7 Portraits (Part 7)

14 May

The final portrait!

As my wife and I rounded the corner out of New Orleans and down into Florida we started to see what our lives were going to be like for the next couple of years.  With the French Quarter behind us we prepared for the reality of working life.  But first, a visit to a few old friends living in St. Petersburg.

Jim, an old friend of Autumn’s had set us up with a little residence with his (and soon to be our) good friends, Adam and Rhea (who I hoped might miraculously be a reincarnation of one of my favourite authors Reay Tannahill).  Our few magical days in the beautiful little city of St. Pete blended Gasparilla Pirate Party madness, great food and good times.

It wasn’t long until we had to make our final stretch down to Fort Lauderdale where Autumn and I would both be returning to the realities of working life (we’d both been avoiding this for over a year now…), but we couldn’t leave without our last interview and portrait sitting.  So here they are, our final hosts on this epic journey across the USA, Adam and Rhea:

These two have a cute story to follow with the portrait – as was the process with this project, Autumn collected the interview and it’s full transcript is available on her blog: wandertheory.wordpress.com
